STICKY FINGERS IN YOUR EARS with Kaiya Waerea & Sophie Paul | All poets have cripsouls: D Mortimer & eliot duncan in conversation

This episode we are super honoured to bring you D Mortimer & eliot duncan in conversation, in celebration of our recently published pamphlet with Mortimer, Speed Glum Hero. Here, the two discuss the writing of madness, craft, mythmaking, and resisting the expectation to conform to gender nonconformity.

Eliot Duncan is a writer, editor and educator from Nebraska. He is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop where he was a Truman Capote Fellow. His first book, Ponyboy (Norton, 23) was the first book with a trans protagonist to be nominated for the National Book Award. He loves you in every tense.

D Mortimer is a writer and artist from London interested in the crip unknown. Their first book Last Night a Beef Jerk Saved My Life was published by Pilot Press in 2021. Mortimer is a current Techne scholar in trans auto fictions at The University of Roehampton. Their work concerns technologies of madness and their doctoral project is entitled Beef Journals: Naming the Uncertain in Transgender Subject Formation.
