When Are We

When Are We is a series that looks at the popular cinema, television, and music of the past 50 years to ask how artists attempt to make sense of their own place in history in an unfolding perpetual present.
 
Haunted by the problem of periodization, it will investigate the unconscious way that history stands in as the aesthetic problem of our time whether it is foregrounded in art or not.
